Last Day In Kuwait

J. had to work the morning of our last day which was Friday. That is the day of worship over there, so the "sermon" was broadcast from the mosque over the loudspeakers. We could hear it in every room. There's no telling what he's saying!

We went out for lunch at a strip mall that had restaurants surrounding a huge playground and fountain in a central courtyard. While we waited on the food to cook, it was entertaining to watch our girls interact with the Kuwaiti children. Although we did not interact with the parents, the children could not stay away from one another. It was fascinating to watch the children communicate with one another. When they could not understand words, they would use huge hand gestures to successfully communicate! When it was time to leave, one little girl kept running after us smiling, waving, and yelling goodbye. Children can be so innocent and accepting of one another.

After the food, we headed over to a mall where the Colonels had gotten their families souvenirs. We also headed over to the market which was scary. At the market, we saw a boy who was about 8-10 years old smoking like a smoke stack. I've never seen so much smoke come out of one person! Very shocking to see!

We left the shopping centers with a DS cartridge with 100 games for the kids, prayer beads, table linens, a small globe, and a glass replica of the Kuwaiti Towers.

We wrapped up our day by completing the packing and relaxing with one another while listening to the live music from the park below. We left at 10 PM for the airport. By midnight, we were in the air on our way back to the United States.
